Sophia is the second work in my Women Collection. I created this piece as a continuation of my exploration of form, material, and physical presence—allowing softness and structure to exist side by side.
The work is constructed using plaster, mixed media, and recycled canvas. A natural white ground supports three-dimensional elements in raw beige tones, with visible seams and surface variation intentionally left intact. I focused on these details to emphasize the tactile, constructed nature of the work rather than aiming for polish. By allowing light to play across the dimensional elements, the neutral materials take on a soft, internal glow that shifts as you move around the piece.
At 24 × 24 inches, Sophia holds a contained, sculptural presence. The piece exists between painting and object, with dimensional elements that extend beyond the surface without excess.
